Reclaim Your Energy and Identity: Stop Claiming What You Don’t Want

There’s a pattern I’ve seen in myself, in clients, in students, and in the collective over and over again. It’s subtle. It’s unconscious. And it’s incredibly disempowering.

We claim what we do not want.

We say things like:

  • “My anxiety is back.”

  • “I can’t ever seem to get ahead.”

  • “I’m just stuck in this pattern.”

  • “This is my trauma.”

  • “I always attract the wrong people.”

It sounds like harmless language. It even sounds like self-awareness. But beneath those statements is an energetic claim. A declaration. A binding contract between you and the very thing you say you’re ready to let go of.

We don’t just describe something when we say it—we align with it. We affirm it as ours.

And then we wonder why it lingers.

We are in a time of massive spiritual acceleration. Old patterns are rising to the surface, timelines are collapsing and rebuilding, and the call to rise into higher alignment is louder than ever. But when fear, doubt, or discomfort shows up, so many of us reach for language that keeps us tethered to the old.

We unintentionally create an energetic loop. The more we say “my doubt,” “my blockage,” or “my struggle,” the more our subconscious reinforces it as identity. It stays because we’ve given it a name. We’ve given it a home.

If you don’t want it, stop claiming it.

If it’s not yours in divine truth, stop calling it mine.

This is not bypassing. This is not pretending. This is spiritual discernment.

This is the conscious act of choosing what you give your energy to—and what you allow to shape your identity.

The first time I ever glimpsed the power of choosing what I claim, it wasn’t through a spiritual teaching or channeling — it was through a conversation with Tim.

Tim was once my therapist, though now I think of him as my first coach.

I was sitting in his office during what I believed was one of the hardest seasons of my life.

At that time, I was carrying everything — and speaking it into being without knowing the weight I was adding.

“My depression.”

"My fibromyalgia.”

“My trauma.”

“My CPTSD.”

“My anxiety.”

I used those words constantly. I thought I was being honest about what I was experiencing. But in truth, I was shaping my entire identity around what I didn’t want.

And Tim, with a tone that was pretty freaking direct, stopped me mid-sentence one day and asked:

“Why are you choosing that to be your story?”

“Why are you shaping your life around what you don’t want?”

I remember feeling startled — even defensive. The question landed so deeply because I had never thought about it that way.

I didn’t fully understand. It made a shift, but at the time, I did not realize what a huge impact that had on my life. And the words stayed with me.

Now, after years of walking this path, after channeling, after coming to know what it means to be a creator, one with The Creator — I understand exactly what he was trying to show me.

I was choosing the story with my words.

I was shaping my life around what I didn’t want — by calling it mine, by reinforcing it in conversation, by anchoring it in my identity.

You are not here to call yourself what you are here to release.

You are not here to identify as the wound.

You are here to remember the I AM — and to speak from that truth.

Now, when old energy rises, when grief moves through, when resistance shows up, I don’t call it mine.

I say, “There is energy moving through.”

There is emotion present for release.”

“There is resistance surfacing, and I am choosing clarity.”

That is the shift.

Everything in the Omniverse is frequency.

When we speak, we assign energy form. We shape how our body, mind, and field perceive what is happening. The more we say something, the more it crystallizes.

This is why the words “I AM” are so sacred.

Whatever you attach to “I AM” becomes your energetic instruction.

“I AM overwhelmed.”

“I AM never going to figure this out.”

“I AM broken.”

These statements don’t just describe a moment; they become a blueprint.

Now contrast that with:

“I AM returning to my center.”

“I AM supported in my healing.”

“I AM grounded in truth.”

“I AM the light of God, expressing as me.”

These are the codes of spiritual sovereignty.

You don’t have to lie or fake positivity. But you can choose words that affirm where you’re going, NOT where you’ve been.

Why We Do It (And Why It’s Okay That We Did)

We often claim what we don’t want because:

  • It feels validating

  • It helps us explain our experience

  • It creates a sense of identity or belonging

  • We were taught to bond through struggle

Many of us were never shown a way to hold pain without fusing to it. But now that you’re awakening, now that you’re remembering who you are, you get to shift this.

You get to say: “This is moving through me, but it’s not who I am.”

That is the truth. That is freedom.

You may be claiming things unconsciously if:

  • You repeat a pattern of “my pain,” “my story,” “my wound” when speaking to others

  • You feel stuck even though you’re doing inner work

  • You notice your affirmations aren’t working because you’re canceling them out with unconscious claims

  • You feel overwhelmed by energy that doesn’t feel like your own

These are signs that your words and your energy field are not in harmony.

The shift begins with conscious witnessing.

It is time to reclaim the I AM

You are not the pattern. You are the witness.

You are not the fear. You are the light it is dissolving into.

You are not the identity wrapped around a wound. You are the Presence that sees beyond it.

This is the I AM—the Divine Spark within you that remains untouched by any experience.

When you shift from “I am this pain” to “I AM healing,”

You choose to align with your highest truth.

When you shift from “I can’t trust anyone” to “I AM learning to see clearly and call in aligned relationships,”

You choose possibility.

You begin to speak the language of transformation.

5 Conscious Shifts to Make Now

Here are five small but powerful ways to stop claiming what you don’t want and start anchoring your I AM:

  1. Audit your words for ownership language. Notice where you say “my” before things you no longer wish to hold. Gently shift it.

  2. Speak to what’s present, not what you are. Instead of “I’m anxious,” say “There is anxiety moving through.” It gives space without identity.

  3. Reframe recurring narratives. Instead of “I always…” ask “Is that still true?” Choose words that match your growth, not your past.

  4. Practice sacred declarations. Use “I AM” to anchor into your truth: I AM safe. I AM supported. I AM free.

  5. Witness without fusing. Hold space for your experience without making it you. Let it pass through your field, not become your field.

This is a simple invocation you can speak daily, or anytime energy feels tangled or heavy:

I call all of my energy back to me now.

I release every thought, belief, or pattern I’ve claimed that does not belong to my divine self.

I return to truth.

I anchor in light.

I align with the I AM presence within me.

I speak only what I choose to become.

I am sovereign. I am whole. I am free.

And so it is.

When we say, “you don’t want it, don’t claim it,” we are not avoiding our humanity.

We are reclaiming our authority.

We are choosing to speak as the I AM—not as the temporary storm.

You don’t have to carry it. You don’t have to call it yours. You don’t have to keep reinforcing what your soul is ready to release.

You can choose to return—again and again—to the truth of who you are.

You are the light. You are the clarity. You are the vessel of divine creation.

So ask yourself:

What am I calling mine that I no longer want to carry?

What new reality will I claim with love, with presence, and with truth today?

If you feel the call to return to your deepest connection—if you are ready to embody the voice of Source within you and live from the truth of who you are—this is your invitation.
